The Millville Board of Education approved an extensive personnel package on Aug. 25 that included leaves of absence, retirements and resignations, transfers, revised hourly/daily rates, job‑description changes, additional pay for summer and extra assignments, substitute and home instructor appointments, food service staff, certificated hires, non‑certificated appointments, wrap‑around and after‑school staff, and new posted positions.
Personnel & Negotiations Committee Chair Mike Whilden told the board the district has filled a majority of open positions and reviewed several administrator and staff hires. The motion to approve Personnel items 12A–12V was made by Mr. Whilden and seconded by Ms. McCarron and carried by a unanimous roll call vote. The minutes record many specific appointments by building and position (examples include Amanda DeVita as Supervisor of Projects, Amanda Wheaton as Vice Principal at Holly Heights, and multiple teachers, paraprofessionals and program staff listed in the agenda backups).
The board also approved Millville‑only appointments (12W–12DD) for before/after school programs, wrap‑around services and LPN/SACC staffing; those approvals passed in a separate Millville‑only motion. Several stipends and hourly club/advisor positions were created for the 2025–26 year, and the minutes note that provisional employment is contingent on certifications, physicals, drug screening and criminal history clearances where applicable.
In Unfinished Business, Superintendent Dr. Matthew Mazzoni introduced Amanda Wheaton as the new vice principal at Holly Heights; Wheaton thanked the board and summarized her 14 years with Millville Public Schools. The minutes do not record individual roll call breakdowns for each named hire but record the overall motions approving the personnel slate. The minutes also note that some stipend declines or rescinded stipend offers are recorded as indicated in the backups.
