City Manager Michael Conley told the council that a 60-foot section of the Riverwalk boardwalk was out of service after a storm compromised an underlying sewer line and footings. Council approved a contract with the city's on-call contractor, 3D Dirt Works, for repairs not to exceed $250,000, with TIF funds allocated for the work.
"There was a 60 foot section of the boardwalk in the City’s Riverwalk that had been down for some time," Conley said; he recommended awarding the contract and authorizing the City Manager to execute agreements. Mayor Pro Tem Tim James made the motion to approve; Council Member Hunter Sox seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Conley said contractors must first assess the full extent of damage because footings will require complete replacement; staff will provide a repair timeline and cost update as estimates become available.
