At its meeting the Highland Park Borough Council approved its consent agenda (items 12A–12M, with one item removed for separate consideration), adopted a budget-transfer resolution, confirmed a municipal-alliance appointment and unanimously passed a resolution renaming the Meadows Trail to honor longtime volunteer Steve Barnes.
Councilmember George read a resolution recounting Barnes’s years of service, grant work and volunteer leadership for the Meadows Trail, noting he led grant administration and construction of boardwalks and trail improvements. The council voted to designate the trail the Steve Barnes Meadows Trail in recognition of his stewardship.
The council also adopted resolution 1125-255 approving a budget transfer (roll-call recorded as affirmative) and confirmed Baric Pekk as a resident member of the municipal alliance. Several routine matters (bill list, grant items, lead service-line inventory on the finance committee agenda) were included on the consent agenda that the council approved by motion and roll-call vote.
Next steps: Staff will proceed with the administrative steps to implement the trail renaming, process the budget transfers and record the confirmed appointment in municipal records.
