The Cohoes Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved, on June 24, an extension of a previously granted use variance for 86–87 Hawthorne Street through March 2027.
Sharon Butler told the board the variance, originally approved in March, had expired because no building permit had been pulled. The owner said Sandra Burwell cannot build for financial reasons and that her sister Sarah and Sarah’s husband now plan to build; the board granted an extension to preserve the previously approved relief for another year.
Chair Mollnow moved to extend the variance to March 2027; Member Alesio seconded and the motion passed on a roll call vote with all present members voting in favor.
