The Coralville Public Library reported robust turnout for its Summer Reading program after a kickoff earlier in the week, Library Director Alison Ames Galstad told the board at its June 3 meeting. Galstad said 377 children, 329 adults and 190 teens enrolled in the challenges so far, with sign-ups recorded both through the Beanstack platform and on paper.
The numbers, Galstad said, reflect strong community interest in library programming as the library transitions more offerings online and continues in-person events. The board heard that staff had prepared materials and banners for the program and that volunteers and Friends group support are part of the season’s activities.
Galstad’s update noted that the kickoff was “very well attended” and that staff will continue to track participation through the summer. The board will receive routine updates on program participation at future meetings; the next meeting is scheduled for July 8.
