Hillsdale Board hears NJSLA presentation; superintendent reports enrollment trends and S&P —AA— rating

Robert Lombardy Jr., the superintendent (presenting under the Superintendent's Report), summarized several district items: an enrollment update, disciplinary items, Halloween parades at Meadowbrook and Smith schools, the district's "AA" rating from Standard & Poor's, and an abatement project update. Lombardy was joined in the NJSLA presentation by Ms. Lio and Mr. Tabrys, who provided data and follow-up remarks.
The presentation on NJSLA results and the subsequent superintendent report were informational; board members thanked staff but did not ask for formal votes on curriculum changes at that meeting. Trustees also approved related professional development and clinical-placement items as part of the personnel consent agenda, including tuition-based clinical placements from Seton Hall University for Spring 2026 and professional-development authorizations for staff.
The superintendent indicated the S&P "AA" credit rating in the report, and the board recorded the other operational items for follow up. No formal policy or program changes were adopted at this session based solely on the NJSLA presentation.
Next steps: staff will continue analysis of the assessment data and report findings to the board as needed; personnel and professional development items approved under the consent agenda will be implemented.
