Hillsdale Board honors four staff for 25 years, approves School Board Recognition Month and SSDS report

The Hillsdale Board of Education on Jan. 19 recognized four staff members for 25 years of service and approved a resolution declaring January 2026 as School Board Recognition Month.
Mr. Lombardy, reporting under the Superintendent’s Report, listed district priorities and updates including the SSDS biannual submission for data collected July–December 2025, enrollment and a renovation update at George G. White Middle School. The board approved the SSDS submission and related education committee recommendations by consensus, 5-0.
The board recognized Christine Barnhart (Ann Blanche Smith), Kathleen Eriksson (Meadowbrook School), Jennifer Harris (Ann Blanche Smith) and Clare Jennings (Meadowbrook School) for 25 years of service.
Board members also approved the Education Committee’s resolution supporting School Board Recognition Month, which cites the New Jersey School Boards Association’s statewide observance and urges citizens to work with local boards and school staff. The motion passed by consensus, 5-0.
On the Student Safety Data System, the board reviewed district incident totals for report period one. The SSDS entry shows six total incidents in 2025–26 report period one, all at George G. White, with three incidents classified as violence and three classified under the substances category. District materials note that incident-category totals may differ from total incidents when multiple offenses are selected for a single incident.
