Irvington approves three-year shared-services agreement to supply School Resource Officers to local schools

The Irvington Municipal Council on Sept. 9 approved a shared-services agreement to provide School Resource Officers (SROs) and additional security personnel to the Irvington Board of Education for a three-year term from Sept. 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.
Under the resolution the Township will invoice the Board of Education $240,000 per year for the SRO service. The council directed the township attorney to review and approve the shared-services agreement; the mayor and municipal clerk were authorized to sign the agreement following attorney review.
Council Member Frederic and Council Member Brown moved and seconded the resolution and the council adopted it. The measure appears in the official minutes with the citation "Adopted; Absent: Cox."
