Irvington council authorizes property exchange to advance East Ward redevelopment

The Irvington Municipal Council authorized a property-exchange agreement on Sept. 23 to facilitate redevelopment in the East Ward/East Springfield Avenue Redevelopment Area.
The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute an agreement, substantially in the form attached as Exhibit A, to swap a township-owned parcel (Block 152, Lot 1 at 317–323 17th Avenue) for a privately owned parcel (Block 147, Lot 17 at 135 19th Avenue) owned by ZM 100 22 STREET, LLC. The council’s findings note the parcels sit within a designated redevelopment area and that the swap is intended to advance redevelopment projects consistent with the East Ward/East Springfield Avenue Redevelopment Plan.
The resolution authorizes municipal officials to take actions necessary to effectuate the exchange and makes the resolution available for public inspection at the clerk’s office. The council adopted the resolution and made it effective immediately.
