At its Aug. 12 meeting the Irvington Municipal Council approved a package of redevelopment and financial resolutions that included awards of municipal properties to private developers, several refunds tied to a planning approval, and a settlement payment to a contractor.
The council accepted the evaluation committee’s recommendations from a July 17 redevelopment property RFP/auction and awarded properties to multiple bidders. The list of accepted winning bids in the minutes totals $1,344,000 and includes significant allocations to Level 61X Group LLC and Chester Property Care across numerous municipal lots. The resolution establishes first- and second-runner up contingencies should a winning bidder fail to meet RFP criteria.
Council also approved refunds to Springfield Gateway Partners, LLC related to planning board activity and technical review totaling $23,536 (itemized as $10,776; $2,500 escrow; $10,260 technical review). A separate resolution authorized a settlement payment of $121,555 to John Okafor on behalf of Enviroscience Solutions, LLC to resolve reimbursement claims related to lead-abatement work; the settlement funds will be charged to account G02-XX716-19A-250.
Other legal and procurement actions approved at the meeting include ratification of litigation counsel contracts (small-dollar ratifications listed in the minutes) and authorization for additional legal funds in a separate appeal matter. The minutes record adoption of the resolutions and direct the administration and attorneys to prepare contracts, deeds and related documents for execution.
