The Irvington Municipal Council on Sept. 23 adopted Amendment #1 to its 2024 municipal budget following a short public hearing. Acting Council President Dr. October Hudley opened the hearing and the clerk read the amendment into the record before council moved to adopt.
The amendment revised several line items in the budget's revenue and appropriation sections, updating special grant and program revenues and adjusting totals for general revenues and appropriations. The corrected copy in the record shows the total general appropriation at $127,799,114.57 following the amendment. The clerk and Chief Financial Officer Faheem J. Ra' Oof read detailed line-by-line changes during the meeting.
The public hearing included a comment slot for Robert Shaw of 57 Coit Street. After council closed public comment, Council Member Orlander G. Vick moved to adopt the amendment and Council Member Brown seconded the motion. The amendment and the amended 2024 municipal budget were adopted; Council Members Beasley and Cox were recorded absent.
The adoption authorizes the administration to file certified copies with the Director of the Division of Local Government Services as required by state law. The clerk confirmed the amendment will be published and the required filings made.
