Jefferson Township board approves personnel slate; two long-serving teachers announce retirements

The Jefferson Township Board of Education approved a slate of personnel actions on March 17, including appointments, transfers, leaves of absence, substitute listings and coaching-staff assignments.
By motion moved by Mr. Natale and seconded by Mr. Brown, the board accepted multiple staffing items detailed in the personnel section of the agenda. The motion included long-term substitute appointments, security and hall-monitor hires, and extra-duty stipends for spring athletics and student activities.
The board also recognized two retirements: Eileen Murnane, a kindergarten teacher at Cozy Lake, who will retire July 1, 2025 after 25 years of service in the district; and Lynne Scognamiglio, a fifth-grade teacher at Stanlick, who will retire July 1, 2025 after more than 24 years in the district. The agenda lists Jodi Reinstein’s appointment as Supervisor of Special Education at an annual salary of $115,573 and a separate stipend appointment as K-12 Supervisor of Gifted & Talented, Family & Consumer Science for $3,000, effective March 18, 2025.
Board members voted aye on the personnel motion; no board member recorded a negative vote or abstention on the listed personnel motions.
