Board approves multiple personnel appointments and records a retirement notice

The Jefferson Township Board of Education on Jan. 21 voted to approve a slate of personnel actions and course reimbursements listed on the meeting agenda.
By motion (L.1), the board approved appointments that include long-term custodial and special-education aide positions, interim supervisory assignments for special-education and G&T coverage, substitute appointments (teachers and armed security officers), and extra-duty stipends for after-school clubs and tutoring. The board accepted a retirement notice from Patricia Vandigriff, a teacher at Jefferson Township High School, who is scheduled to retire July 1, 2025 after 25 years in the district.
The board also approved course reimbursements and summer-course approvals (L.2) for multiple staff members across the district. Board materials list individual reimbursements, course names, credits and totals (examples include reimbursements ranging from a few hundred dollars to multiple hundreds per course). Mrs. Grater recused herself from voting on Agenda Item L.2, as recorded in the minutes.
What happens next: appointments are contingent on receipt of required certifications and transcripts where applicable; substitutes and extra-duty pay will be implemented according to the district's payroll processes.
