The ordinance sets a $55 penalty for violations including no parking between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., head-in parking violations, parking meter and overtime meter violations, and restrictions on 1½-ton vehicles during specified overnight hours.
Council opened the ordinance for public comment and heard no speakers before taking a roll-call vote to adopt the measure. The vote recorded all five members in favor.
Ordinance #1739 also adds permit-specific fee language for Raritan Parking Pass and Residential Parking at $55, contains standard severability and repealer clauses, and states the ordinance takes effect upon passage and publication according to law and approval by the Department of Transportation.
The municipal clerk will publish the adopted ordinance and coordinate any necessary notifications to comply with state and borough publication rules. No amendments to the ordinance were recorded at the meeting.
