Keansburg council approves series of contracts, appointments and capital awards including Collins Field pickleball courts

At its Dec. 18 meeting, the Keansburg Borough Council approved a series of resolutions covering routine payments, personnel appointments, contracts and capital awards.
Among the measures the council approved by roll call: Resolution #24‑136 authorizing payment of listed vouchers; Resolution #24‑137 appointing Thomas P. Cusick as Public Agency Compliance Officer for 2025; Resolution #24‑139 authorizing execution of the Police Benevolent Association contract for Jan. 1, 2025–Dec. 31, 2027; and Resolution #24‑140 renewing five cooperative sober living residence licenses for one year through Dec. 31, 2025.
The council also appointed multiple Special Law Enforcement Police Officers (Resolution #24‑141) and appointed Alex Worth as Tax Assessor to fill an unexpired term through June 30, 2025 (Resolution #24‑142). Financial housekeeping included Resolution #24‑143 authorizing transfers of surplus funds among budget line items.
Procurement and capital measures: the council authorized a fair and open contract with Mack Camera & Video Services to purchase a video interviewing/recording system for the Police Department at $17,875 (Resolution #24‑144), subject to CFO certification. The Borough awarded the Collins Field Pickleball Courts bid to Fiore Paving as the lowest responsible bidder for $117,563, subject to CFO certification and attorney review (Resolution #24‑145).
Insurance and risk management: Council approved joining/renewing membership in the Statewide Insurance Fund for Jan. 1, 2025–Jan. 1, 2028 (Resolution #24‑146), appointed Brown & Brown Metro as the Risk Management Consultant (Resolution #24‑147), and named fund commissioners for 2025 (Resolution #24‑148). The council also approved a second payment list of vouchers (Resolution #24‑149).
All listed resolutions were adopted by roll call. Where contract awards are conditioned on CFO certification or attorney review, final execution was noted as a subsequent administrative step.
