MHADA board receives program updates on Recovery Center, Hope One, Recovery High School and local trainings

At the March 10 meeting the MHADA board received a set of routine program reports and community announcements. Mary Rybicki reported no substantive updates for Hope One but said the Prosecutor’s office is preparing for a summer camp. Sueanne reported Recovery Center activity and said Dr. Savage will visit the center on March 20 to discuss his role with staff; a recent roller-skating event was noted as successful.
Katie Faldetta said Recovery High School has seven youth enrolled. Kelly Benigno (OFRT) told the board that "there are more deaths from Meth than Heroin or Fentanyl," and noted Cape Assist presented local drug trends at a recent community day attended by 98 organizations. Carla Drake described a recent placement helping a newly released 72-year-old find long-term assisted living. Christina Jackey summarized EISS screening data (included in the meeting packet) showing higher screening volumes in summer months. Announcements included a tobacco-prevention conference in Vineland, a Life Space Intervention (non-contact de-escalation) training limited to 30 youth participants, and an Acenda Pathfinders event on March 27 for youth who are not college-bound.
The board adjourned at 5:59 p.m.; the minutes record the next meeting date as May 12, 2026.
