On the budget, the manager said the draft proposed 2026 budget does not call for a tax increase and is balanced; the finance committee will meet ahead of the special budget meeting scheduled for Nov. 5, 2025. "My favorite meeting of the year is the budget meeting," the manager said, noting the process reviews everything line by line to make government spending transparent to residents.
Staff also reported that the borough submitted a FEMA-related application for culvert replacement (the manager stated the borough was "selected for $712,000" for that call) and is completing required environmental and engineering reviews; selection and final funding remain contingent on federal appropriations and additional reviews.
What happens next: the finance committee will review the draft budget, the council will hold the advertised special budget meeting on Nov. 5, and staff will proceed with grant reimbursements and remaining reviews on selected projects.
