Cranford committee holds two closed sessions on legal, licensing and redevelopment matters; minutes adopted

The Township Committee twice moved into closed session on March 9 under Resolution No. 2026-84.4 to discuss legal, licensing and contractual matters. The stated topics included a legal update, consideration of a New ABC plenary retail consumption license with Theater Exception No. 37, general litigation counsel, collective bargaining, Birchwood Avenue redevelopment and a closed-session minutes review. The resolutions stated that minutes of the closed sessions would be released at the Township Committee’s discretion.
The first closed session began after public comment and the committee returned to open session at 7:45 p.m. A roll call recorded an affirmative vote by Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty, Deputy Mayor Paul A. Gallo and Commissioners Brian Andrews, Terrence Curran and Gina Black to go into closed session. Later in the meeting the committee again adopted a motion to enter closed session under the same resolution and then returned to open session at 10:18 p.m. The committee adjourned at 10:18 p.m.
Commissioner Terrence Curran moved and Deputy Mayor Paul A. Gallo seconded a motion to adopt the January 20, 2026 closed session meeting minutes; Mayor Miller Prunty, Deputy Mayor Gallo, Commissioners Andrews, Black and Curran voted to approve those minutes.
