The Moose Lake Parks & Recreation Board on April 6 approved a slate of routine purchases, hires, leases and event permits during a meeting at City Hall.
Board Member Keith Carlson moved to approve the meeting agenda; Graydon Ohlin seconded and the motion carried by recorded vote. The board then approved the consent agenda, which included the March 2, 2026 regular meeting minutes and February 2026 financial reports for the FNB Arena and parks operations.
Major approvals enacted by recorded motion and vote included a purchase of 22 picnic tables from Fast Turn Supply, Inc. at $450 each (total $9,900); purchase of 10 tables and 20 chairs from Uline for arena furnishing; and approval of a $2,948 speaker-system quote from Duluth AV Logistics for the FNB Arena. The board also approved posting for a part-time mower laborer and recommended hiring two part-time campground attendants (Hanson and Schofner).
The board approved a ball field lease agreement with ISD 97 and granted a park permit for the Legacy of Excellence 5K/10K. The agenda also recorded approval of an MOU with MLAHA and approval of a youth baseball request for use of the FNB Arena.
All motions recorded in the minutes carried with the listed members voting in the affirmative; the minutes record Yes votes from Councilor Walter Lower III, Board Members Keith Carlson, Ross Stewart and Graydon Ohlin where recorded. The meeting was called to order by Board Member Sam Hvidsten and adjourned at 5:52 p.m. The board scheduled its next meeting for May 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
