The Closter Board of Education on May 21 approved a slate of personnel appointments for the 2025–26 school year and ratified the reappointment of the district’s School Business Administrator.
The board approved the full‑time, tenure‑track appointments of Lina Orejuela as Tenakill Middle School Spanish teacher (BA Step 1, $59,500, start Sept. 1, 2025), Jamie Kluft as TMS special education (SGLC) teacher (MA Step 1, $68,123), Hailey Gabettie as Grade 5 science/math teacher (MA Step 1, $68,123) and Kira Cohen as TMS school psychologist (MA60 Step 1, $79,557), contingent on successful criminal history background checks.
Trustees also approved mentor assignments for provisionally licensed staff and summer staffing items including custodial and technology assistants. The board accepted resignations from Tenakill staff Min Jeong Kim (math teacher) and Michelle Lee‑Ein (art teacher), both effective June 30, 2025.
The board ratified the reappointment of Floro M. Villanueva, Jr. as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the 2025–26 school year with a salary of $192,410 (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026), under terms approved by the Executive County Superintendent.
