Board approves personnel ratification and six construction contract amendments after executive session

- Amendment #17, Thompson Turner Construction, James J. Davis Early Childhood Center: Approved parking-lot addition and resurfacing with a guaranteed maximum price of $1,530,239 using 2023 bond referendum funds.
Each motion was made, seconded and approved by the board; a small number of board members commented on the scale of capital spending and urged attention to equity of facilities improvements across the county.
Funding and oversight: motions referenced use of CIP and 2023 referendum funds; several board members requested additional transparency on why some repairs required high dollar amendments and asked staff to continue oversight and pursue accountability where appropriate.
