Stone Harbor council approves retroactive pay increases for four lifeguards

Borough Clerk Jeanne M. Parkinson read the titles of four resolutions added to the agenda that the council said were intended to recognize prior years’ lifeguarding experience and to make the pay adjustments retroactive to each employee’s hiring date. The resolutions are numbered 2025-S-222 (Megan Douglass), 2025-S-223 (Thomas Harobin), 2025-S-224 (Alyssa Sittineri) and 2025-S-225 (Joshua Cowley).
Councilmember Jennifer Gensemer moved to add the resolutions to the meeting agenda; Councilmember Frank Dallahan seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously by a vote of all council members present (Frank Dallahan, Victor Foschini, Bunny Parzych, Robin Casper, Jennifer Gensemer and Ken Biddick).
Details recorded by the clerk show the increases and retroactive hiring dates as follows: Douglass from $23.10 to $24.50, retroactive to June 14, 2025; Harobin from $22.40 to $23.80, retroactive to May 24, 2025; Sittineri from $21.70 to $25.20, retroactive to June 14, 2025; and Cowley from $22.40 to $23.10, retroactive to May 24, 2025. During the public comment period that followed, Dawn Robinson of Burleigh, N.J., praised the borough’s Farmer’s Market, saying it has been "phenomenal" during her seven years attending and that consistency in market days is important for vendors and patrons.
