Stone Harbor council reviews three special-event applications; member questions nonprofit hosting requirement

The events listed were the HeyDay Athletic Softball Tournament on July 26, 2025; the Villanova University Alumni Softball Game on Aug. 9, 2025; and the St. Brendan Navigator Wedding of the Sea/Outdoor Mass on Aug. 15, 2025. Foschini said the borough has been working through logistics for each event.
Councilmember Jennifer Gensemer questioned the borough code requirement that Special Events be hosted only by nonprofit organizations, saying the restriction did not make much sense and asking staff to look into the ordinance. The council did not approve or reject the special-event applications during the work session; Foschini said the applications are on the regular meeting agenda and would be considered during that session.
