She told the council she outlined “various options” that she said are proven to enhance pedestrian safety and said she was pleased with a prompt response from the county chair; she reported the matter has been referred to County engineers for evaluation.
Bunny Parzych, a councilmember, flagged a separate but related concern at the intersection of 3rd and 96th Streets, calling that location “disorganized” and recommending it also be reviewed. The council noted that both intersections are on county roads, which means final design or changes will be implemented by county staff following any engineering review.
The discussion did not include specific engineering plans, timelines or budget figures. Mayor Timothy J. Carney and councilmembers asked that borough staff stay engaged with the County Engineers as the investigation proceeds and report back to the council when the county provides recommendations or proposed actions.
