Clemson Girl Scouts present Silver Award project to sustainability committee

A group of Girl Scouts told the Sustainability Advisory Committee on May 13 that their Silver Award project focused on helping Clemson become a wildlife-certified community by educating neighbors and certifying private properties.
Presenters identified themselves as Anna Lab, Stella Dyer and Finley Savannah. They described outreach activities that included handing out more than 100 outreach bags at a spring festival, creating a brochure (with a QR code linking to the city website) and coordinating three classroom learning stations at Clemson Elementary to teach students about monarchs and pollinators.
The presenters said the project took 56 volunteer hours and noted support from adult leaders and city staff (Mr. Tidwell and Mayor Halfacre were thanked). Committee members praised the students’ work and invited them to pose for a photo to be posted on the city's website.
The committee encouraged the Girl Scouts to continue outreach and suggested making brochures available at Town Hall and the public kiosk for broader distribution.
