At the Jan. 6 meeting, the Town of Moultonborough Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to accept and formalize donations totaling $46,119.11 into Trust Fund TF114 to support fuel assistance for residents demonstrating need.
Selectman Charles M. McGee moved that the board affirm the Trustees of Trust Funds received donations beginning in 2012 from Latchkey Charities, Altrusa and other donors establishing Trust Fund TF114 to provide fuel assistance (including wood, pellets, electricity, oil, propane and related furnace repair and maintenance). The motion states that these funds and future donations shall be held in TF114, withdrawals may be deducted from principal and income, and that the Moultonborough Board of Selectmen are the Agents to Expend; the acceptance was made retroactive to 2012 under RSA 31:19 as authorized at the May 14, 2022 Town Meeting. Selectman Karel A. Crawford seconded; the vote was 5-0.
The action formalizes the town’s handling of previously donated funds intended to help residents pay for heating fuel and related furnace repairs, and clarifies who may expend those funds. The board’s motion makes clear that the funds are to be used for fuel assistance and associated furnace maintenance and repair for eligible town residents.
The motion was made by Selectman Charles M. McGee and seconded by Selectman Karel A. Crawford. The vote was unanimous, 5-0.
