The Village of Larchmont Board of Trustees on April 21 adopted the tentative 2025–26 budget following a brief presentation by the village administrator. The administrator said the budget as proposed would require a 2.5% increase in the tax levy to fund and balance the next fiscal year, which runs June 1 through May 31.
Village administrator Dacino summarized the process and timeline, noting the tentative budget was published to the village website and drew few public comments. "As presented, it would require a 2.5% tax levy increase to fund and balance the subsequent New Year's budget," Dacino said. He reminded the board that, under New York State law, the board should adopt the budget by May 1 so tax warrants and bills can be prepared for collection beginning June 1.
The board opened the public hearing on the tentative budget and, with no members of the public speaking, closed the hearing and voted to adopt the 2025–26 budget at the meeting. Trustees indicated the board's prior guidance had been to maintain current service and staffing levels and to be sensitive to the tax burden on residents.
What happens next: The treasurer will prepare the adopted budget in final form, produce tax warrants and bills for collection, and complete year‑end reconciliations and audits as scheduled.
