Council updates Ambulance Supervisor job description, posts interim position and schedules Dec. 18 closed special meeting for Ambulance Director matter

Councilors reviewed EMS staffing and one internal applicant for the Assistant Ambulance Director position. After discussion, council concluded the applicant’s duties fit the Ambulance Supervisor role more closely and approved updates to the Ambulance Supervisor job description.
Councilor Joe Morin moved to accept the revised job description; Councilor Bob Anderson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council then authorized posting the Ambulance Supervisor (Interim) position internally from Dec. 9 through Dec. 14, and authorized the Hiring Committee to hire a qualified candidate for the interim role. Those motions passed unanimously.
Because some Ambulance Director matters involve sensitive personnel information, the council also agreed to hold a special meeting with closed portions as allowed under Minnesota statute. Councilor Morin moved to call a special meeting for Dec. 18 at 5:00 PM; the motion passed unanimously.
