Tower council updates hiring and bank access: assistant ambulance post, clerk search and Frandsen account changes

The City of Tower council on Nov. 10 approved several administrative and personnel actions. Mayor David Setterberg moved to post the Assistant Ambulance Director position internally; Councilor Kevin Norby seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Minutes state funds are already budgeted for the role and that the new appointee would report to the incoming Clerk/Treasurer and then to the council.
Councilors were also briefed on the Clerk/Treasurer recruitment. Ten applications were received before the Nov. 7 closing date; the council identified Nov. 19 as the first choice date for formal interviews with Dec. 1 as an alternate.
On finance administration, Councilor John Van DeVoort moved to make all City of Tower accounts at Frandsen Bank visible to the Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. Councilor Bob Anderson seconded an amendment that named the deputy as Terri S. Joki-Martin and directed removal of previous Clerk/Treasurer Michael Schultz from all City accounts, including TEDA. The amended motion passed unanimously.
