Councilors voted unanimously on Nov. 10 to approve Resolution 2025-XXX authorizing an application for โ and acceptance of โ IRRR funding for Community Building improvements. The motion was moved by Councilor Bob Anderson and seconded by Councilor Joe Morin.
The council also voted unanimously to support the Mesabi Trail Plan. Public Works reported completion of sewer work on 3rd Street South, installation of laterals for three residents on 2nd Street South, and said storm-water work at the Depot will be postponed until June 2026. The minutes state that all Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds have been exhausted and IRRR funds are nearly used, and that Public Works continues mapping work.
The council did not provide specific IRRR award amounts or a project timeline in the meeting minutes; applications and funding approvals will follow the usual grant-review processes.
