CME Film Fest organizers ask district to connect students with festival events Sept. 5–8

Representatives from the CME Film Fest, Joseph Metcalfe and Katie Garibaldi, asked the board to share information about festival events with district students and staff. The festival runs Sept. 5–8 at Studio Movie Grill with off‑site field trips to local filming locations and hands‑on camera training opportunities.
Metcalfe said the festival will bring filmmakers — including Sean McNamara, director of an upcoming Reagan film with local shooting locations — to meet students and provide mentorship. Garibaldi and Metcalfe emphasized that many festival events are free for students and that organizers hope to build local pathways to film careers.
The board thanked the presenters and indicated staff would consider ways to connect interested students with the festival programming.
