The Louisiana Commission on HIV and Hepatitis C Education, Prevention, and Treatment on July 9 published a list of vacant appointed seats and directed staff to circulate the vacancies to commissioners.
Vacancies included designated seats for a representative of the statewide HIV prevention planning group, a Ryan White Part D grantee, community provider representatives for racial/ethnic subpopulations, a chancellor or designee for LSUHSC Shreveport, an Office of Behavioral Health (LDH) representative, dual-diagnosis (HIV/HCV) representatives, a Bureau of Health Services Financing (LDH) representative, an Office of the Governor representative, a faith-based community representative, a person living with HIV from a racial/ethnic subpopulation, and a Ryan White Part A grantee. The minutes list current appointees serving some of those seats (for example, Monica Johnson, Vatsana Chantala) and note others as vacant.
The Membership Committee scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, July 23 at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom and directed staff to email the list of vacancies to commissioners for outreach and recruitment.
Next steps: Staff will circulate the vacancy list and the committee will proceed with recruitment efforts at the July 23 meeting.
