Fire chief: new truck in final inspection; Pennsylvania Avenue resurfacing planned for spring 2026

Fire Chief Jess Hand told the Weymouth Township Committee on Jan. 7, 2026, that the township’s new fire truck is in its final inspection and is expected to be delivered by the end of the month.
Engineer Michael Fralinger, Jr. reviewed the monthly engineering report and said design work is underway for an NJDOT resurfacing project on Pennsylvania Avenue, currently scheduled for spring 2026. He also reported that the architect submitted the township’s 2023–2024 ACIA CDBG design to the Atlantic County Improvement Authority for review.
Superintendent of Public Works Ronald C. Carroll thanked the committee for support and congratulated Public Works Foreman Karl Chase, Jr. for obtaining a Certified Public Work Management Certification. These operational updates preceded routine approvals of departmental reports, minutes and financial actions later in the meeting.
The committee opened and closed two public-comment periods; no members of the public spoke. The meeting was called to order at 6:47 p.m. and adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
