Woodland Park board hears reopening updates, interim business administrator introduces himself

The Woodland Park Board of Education met July 15, 2024, and heard brief administrative updates as staff prepared for the 2024–25 school year. Superintendent Michele Pillari told the board the district is conducting re-registration and that schools and the board office are preparing for a September opening.
Dr. Vincent Occhino, introduced under Business Administrator remarks, thanked board members for their welcome and said the district’s new business administrator, Mr. Ortiz, "will be in good hands," according to the minutes. The board proceeded to approve routine consent items and moved to address the evening’s personnel and finance business.
Why it matters: preparations for student re-registration and changes in business office staff set the administrative baseline for fall operations and payroll, and they preceded multiple personnel and finance votes that will affect staffing and services for the 2024–25 school year.

The meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m. following the board’s return from executive session. The executive session minutes record that the board upheld a Donaldson hearing decision for an employee and denied an HIB appeal (2024-89).
