Winfield committee approves generator maintenance contract, liquor-club renewal and grounds work

The Winfield Township Committee on May 19 unanimously adopted three resolutions authorizing routine municipal contracts and licenses and approved payments for bills and requisitions.
The committee approved Resolution 25-28 to contract Modern Group Power Systems for municipal emergency generator maintenance at a cost of $592 for the term June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026. The contract covers scheduled maintenance, twice-yearly service, an annual oil and filter change, and factory-recommended diagnostics. Commissioner Adam D. Koomer moved the resolution; Commissioner Joseph P. Byrne seconded, and all members present voted in the affirmative.
The committee also adopted Resolution 25-29 renewing Club License #2021-31-002-001 for the Winfield Fire Department Association, located at 12 1/2 Gulfstream Avenue. The renewal was approved on a motion by Commissioner Koomer, seconded by Commissioner Byrne, with unanimous support.
Resolution 25-30 awards a $7,000 contract to Beattie Landscaping LLC. for improvements to the municipal complex grounds. The scope listed in the resolution includes debris removal, planting shrubs, adding black topsoil, seeding grass, and installing river rock. The motion was moved by Commissioner Koomer, seconded by Commissioner Byrne, and carried unanimously.
On routine fiscal matters the committee approved requisitions totaling $6,727.74, which included items such as police software and license renewals (Info-COP and PowerDMS) and fire department turnout-gear patches. The committee also approved payment of bills totaling $36,165.87 from the Current Fund. Notable line items on the bill list included county dispatch services ($6,892.11) and May school taxes ($8,176.00).
During the Citizen’s Forum resident Paige Elster asked about state grant funding for the Winfield Track. Mayor Robert F. Reilly said the township is "waiting and working with the State" and that there is "no update yet on [a] timeline." Mayor Reilly also reminded residents of the Memorial Day service planned for May 26 at 11:00 a.m.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:06 p.m. by unanimous vote.
