The Danbury Environmental Impact Commission on Aug. 28 approved minutes from its Aug. 14 meeting, tabled consideration of Regulated Activity 122055 (55 Kenosha Ave.) and also tabled discussion of a violation at Barnum Road pending further staff work. A remediation update was provided for 24 Lanham Road.
During roll call the chair noted the commission's next regular meeting is Sept. 11, 2024. The commission moved, seconded and approved the minutes for Aug. 14.
Separately, the commission voted to table Regulated Activity 122055 after technical questions about stormwater, soils and waste handling were raised; commissioners requested infiltration testing, a written waste-management plan and detailed rain-garden cross-sections before resuming consideration. The commission also passed a motion to table ongoing discussion of a reported violation at Barnum Road and asked staff to continue discussions with the involved parties.
A staff member identified as Larry reported that remediation work at 24 Lanham Road is underway: crews have removed material from wetlands, a second report on the remediation work was received, and progress should continue for another couple of months with weather-related delays possible.
The meeting concluded after the commission moved to adjourn.
