Milford Center council approves water billing contract, authorizes township meetings at village hall

Milford Center Mayor Reisinger presided over the council meeting on Nov. 10, 2025, where council members unanimously approved a contract for a new water billing system and authorized the Union Township Trustees to use Village Hall for monthly meetings.
Councilman Kerry King moved to adopt Resolution R-08-25 "To Authorize Mayor Reisinger to enter into a contract with GASI for a new water billing system." Councilman Noah Eubanks seconded the motion and the resolution passed 4-0. Council subsequently voted 4-0 to waive the second and third readings on the ordinance; Kerry King made the waive-readings motion and Doug Burnett seconded.
In related business, Councilman King moved and Councilman Eubanks seconded Resolution R-07-25 authorizing Mayor Reisinger to enter into a contract with the Union Township Trustees to allow the trustees to hold their monthly meetings in Village Hall. That resolution and a motion to waive further readings passed 4-0.
Earlier in the meeting, Council approved a request from the Union County Sheriff’s Department to use village facilities for self-defense classes after Sgt. Dyer presented department statistics and the program request. Council also approved the minutes for a prior meeting on a 4-0 vote; Kerry King moved and Valerie Merideth seconded.
During committee reports, Councilman Doug Burnett said the village needs street patching following summer water and storm sewer work; Mayor Reisinger and Administrator Kise were directed to pursue the repairs. In the engineer's report, Thomas Perry said the village is still awaiting a final determination on a CDBG grant for storm sewer repairs and is pursuing a Neighborhood Revitalization Grant that could be up to $750,000.
The meeting concluded when Councilman Kerry King moved to adjourn and Doug Burnett seconded; the motion passed 4-0.
