Milford City Council on Sept. 3 adopted Ordinance 24‑309 authorizing the interim city manager to enter into a consultant agreement with John J. Jones, with Jones slated to assume the interim city manager role on Oct. 1.
In Administrative Services Committee discussion, Interim City Manager/Chief Jamey Mills said he and Law Director Bryan E. Pacheco had reviewed the consultant agreement and characterized it as consistent with provisions discussed in executive session. The contract covers administrative consulting, employment recruiting services on behalf of the city, and a transition to interim city manager on Oct. 1. Mills told the committee that Jones had already been assisting the city and that bringing him in full time on Oct. 1 was expected.
The ordinance authorizing the agreement was presented to council, read by title following suspension of the rules, and adopted on a motion by Council Member Kristopher Parrish, seconded by Council Member Kim Chamberland; the minutes record the vote as "All yes."
