Danbury EIC approves three 5‑year extensions for Candlewood Pines permits

Commissioners discussed whether environmental conditions have changed on the lots and the need to assess any impacts. Larry noted that current practice requires bond estimates at the grading or permit stage even though earlier approvals lacked bonds; he said those bonds will be city bonds for erosion and sedimentation controls and grading when work commences. Several commissioners asked for clarity on which lots are subject to regulated activity; Ushchak and Munch outlined that two of the three lots include regulated work near the lake and one lot is outside the Upland Review area.
The commission voted separately to extend each permit for five years: motions were made and seconded and each motion passed by voice vote. Staff said bond estimates will be prepared when the applicant files for grading permits and that staff will continue to monitor related permit expirations in the development.
