Two community members spoke during the public-comment portion of the Sept. 30 meeting.
A resident who identified herself as Ms. Tyrrell (listing Brooks Ave.) thanked Dr. DeNobile for her service and asked about the status of a PTO vote and plans to upgrade playground equipment, saying the playground is missing a slide. Dr. DeNobile replied that the board and administration still need to meet and review available LRIG grant funds and that discussions are ongoing.
Another commenter, Mr. Houton of W. Oldis St., said he represents Access For All and explained the organization’s mission to help residents with disabilities and assist parents and students who need services. Board members responded with thanks and noted the board’s interest in accessibility.
The board did not take immediate action at the meeting but acknowledged the concerns and indicated staff would follow up with the PTO and community.
