The Council of the City of Milford unanimously appointed Police Chief Jamey Mills as interim city manager at a special meeting on Aug. 9, 2024.
Council member Kim Chamberland moved to nominate Police Chief Jamey Mills to serve as interim city manager; the motion was seconded by Council member Ralph Vilardo Jr. Mayor Lisa Evans presided. The council recorded an affirmative vote from all members present.
The council convened at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 745 Center Street. Mayor Lisa Evans opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence and stated the session’s sole purpose was to appoint an interim city manager. During roll call, Council member Kristopher Parrish moved to excuse Mr. Price; Vilardo seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously to excuse him.
After Chamberland’s nomination, the council voted to approve the appointment; the transcript records the vote as “all yes.” There was no additional debate recorded. The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 p.m. on a motion by Kristopher Parrish, seconded by Ralph Vilardo Jr., with all present voting in favor.
