DRC approves Ace Hardware outdoor storage plan in Jonesville Business Park

The Alachua County Development Review Committee on Nov. 20 approved a revised final development plan to allow outdoor, nonhazardous storage behind Ace Hardware at 202 NW 140th Terrace in the Jonesville Business Park planned development.
Jacob Stout, planner with Alachua County Growth Management, told the committee the site is about 0.16 acres and that the Board of County Commissioners approved a minor PD amendment on Nov. 4 to permit outdoor storage of nonhazardous items such as landscaping materials and tools. Stout said staff recommends approval of the revised final development plan, which includes paving of the parcel, a 10-foot-tall chain-link fence with obscuring fabric, a covered storage area and an extension of the sidewalk. "There will also be two electric vehicle charging stations being installed for these two parking spaces," Stout said.
Kyle Willems, the project's civil engineer with JB Pro, said the applicant had no formal presentation but was available to answer questions.
A committee member moved to approve the revised final development plan; a colleague seconded and the committee approved the plan by voice vote.
Next steps: applicant may proceed with required permits and site work in accordance with the approved plan and county permitting processes.
