New Lothrop recognizes student media, robotics and athletic achievements
Summary

During the May 18 meeting the New Lothrop board recognized students and staff for extracurricular achievements and summarized recent competitions and upcoming events.
Digital media juniors Logan Frost and Leah Janson were acknowledged for producing a collaboration video about the district. Mrs. Devota and Steel Stinger captain Ricky Ziola presented the robotics team and displayed first-place alliance banners earned at a regional competition in Fenton.
The board presented varsity basketball honors to Brady Kohlmann (sophomore), Kelsey Kohlmann (senior) and Kaitlyn Wendling (junior). Athletic director Marty Weese announced recent individual placings in regional track competition — including Katelyn Wendling qualifying for state in the 100m and 400m — and congratulated teams on titles and invites, including the varsity softball MMAC championship and first place at the Central Montcalm Hornet Invite.
Elementary Principal Kim Kuchar reported the elementary is finishing M-STEP and i-Ready/Acadience testing, noted successful pre-K/kindergarten round-up and music concerts, and listed upcoming end-of-year activities including track and field and school picnics. High School Principal Drew Severn thanked senior advisors and staff for graduation-related events and noted the awards assembly and other senior activities.
