Board OKs new Instructional Coach job description and several personnel moves; hires chemistry teacher

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board approved Personnel Items #1–#6, which included adoption of a new job description for an Instructional Coach, approval of new staff appointments for the 2023–24 school year, retirements, resignations, and spring coaching assignments.
The Instructional Coach position was described in the attachments as a ten-month role (plus summer responsibilities) designed to provide job-embedded support to teachers, including classroom coaching, co-teaching, professional learning facilitation, and mentor/buddy organization. The Instructional Coach responsibilities were specified as comprising two-fifths of the staff member’s workday, with the remaining three-fifths in the staff member’s annual classroom teacher appointment; evaluation procedures and compensation references were tied to the district collective bargaining agreement.
The board approved the appointment of Michelle Krupa as a chemistry teacher at a prorated annual salary of $89,350 (Step 21 / BA + 30 Guide), to begin on or before April 13, 2024, pending completion of required paperwork and criminal-history approval. The minutes also recorded an approved retirement for Charles Pittman (Maintenance) effective Sept. 1, 2024, and a resignation for James McConville (English Teacher) effective July 1, 2024.
On motions recorded in the minutes, Personnel Items were approved unanimously by roll-call vote.
