The Lindstrom City Council on Jan. 21 took several formal actions by voice vote:
• Advance state-aid resolution for Olinda Trail (Resolution 20260121-03): Staff said the resolution will advance approximately $171,000 in state-aid dollars needed for maintenance work on Olinda Trail North. A council member moved to advance the resolution with a clerical correction to the county certification language; staff agreed and the resolution was advanced for submission to the state.
• Adopt 2026 fee schedule: Council approved an updated fee schedule that increases development and building fees (the residential fee was raised to $5 per unit) and applies the same percentage increase across other fees. Staff said increases reflect prior work-session direction and will help cover planned projects in the five-year CIP.
• Approve downtown aesthetics design and bidding: Council approved starting design and bidding with consultant Tuali for a downtown aesthetics package (Park Street parking-lot landscaping, district signage, wayfinding and sidewalk-planter pilots). Staff indicated funding would come primarily from excess Park Street construction funds, supplemented by public-works or general-fund dollars if needed. Council instructed staff to use in-house crews for installations where feasible.
• Consent agenda and meeting closure: The consent agenda was approved earlier in the meeting, and the council later voted to enter a closed session under section 13D.
All listed votes on the consent agenda, the resolution, the fee schedule and the downtown aesthetics motion were approved by voice vote during the meeting. Where final contract signatures or state approvals are required, staff will return with final documents for the council to sign.
