Devon Ardesco, Conservation Technician with the Dayton Valley Conservation District, announced at the June 3 Stagecoach Advisory Board meeting that the district is launching a program to help reduce wildfire risks in the area. Ardesco said the program is intended to supplement Central Lyon County Fire efforts and will focus outreach and mitigation assistance on veterans, individuals with disabilities and seniors over the age of 60. Board members heard the brief public-participation announcement early in the meeting; no funding amounts, start dates or specific program actions were provided in the minutes.
