Board honors 24‑year IT veteran David Gustafson on his retirement

The Solano County Board of Supervisors on July 23 adopted a resolution honoring David Gustafson, an Information Technology Analyst IV retiring after more than 24 years of county service.
Board members and county IT leadership described Gustafson’s role in supporting the county’s property tax systems, assisting the assessor‑recorder and the transition to modernized tax software. "When systems work, no one hears about them — Dave is one of the magicians that makes this happen," said Tim Flanagan, chief information officer and registrar of voters.
Aaron Barrick, chief technology officer, thanked Gustafson for his institutional knowledge and steady presence during a multi‑year property tax modernization effort. Gustafson told the board he felt the county's systems and staff are now in good hands.
The board adopted the retirement resolution and presented a plaque to Gustafson; the vote on the consent recognition was recorded as 5–0.
