Board of Awards approves one-year extension with Veolia for water pollution control plant

Folger told the board the engineering and public utilities files include a letter from Veolia dated 05/18/2026 requesting the extension. He said the extension would run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, and would continue under the same terms and conditions as the current contract while city staff negotiate a longer-term renewal.
A staff member representing the submitting department asked the board to approve the extension and to authorize either "Antonio or myself" to execute the extension on behalf of the city. The board moved and seconded the item, and the motion carried unanimously.
The board did not specify additional changes to the contract terms during the meeting; Folger said the one-year term was intended to provide continuity of service while negotiations for a long-term agreement continue. The board record indicates the extension is contingent on execution of the formal agreement as amended by staff.
