Rumson-Fair Haven board elects McGinty president, Thompson vice president; new member sworn

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education, meeting Jan. 2, 2024, elected Anne Marie McGinty as board president and Mrs. Thompson as vice president and administered oaths to newly elected and appointed board members.
The Business Administrator and Board Secretary, Sean S. Cranston, called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. and read the required Open Public Meetings Act notice. Election returns were read earlier in the meeting, listing Eileen Hickey (Fair Haven) with 1,645 votes and Rumson winners including Anne Marie McGinty (1,092) and Dorothy Whitehouse (1,082).
Mr. Page nominated Anne Marie McGinty for president; a roll call vote recorded affirmative votes from the present members, after which "Mrs. McGinty presided over the meeting." Mrs. Whitehouse nominated Mrs. Thompson for vice president; the roll call vote affirmed that nomination.
The Business Administrator administered the oath of office to newly elected members, and to Kevin Grant, identified in the minutes as a newly appointed board member. The oath reaffirmed allegiance to the U.S. and New Jersey constitutions and acknowledged statutory qualifications for board office.
Roll call recorded Mr. Grant, Mrs. Kiley, Mr. Page, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. McGinty and Mrs. Whitehouse as present; Mrs. Halcrow, Mrs. McCabe and Mrs. Hickey were listed as absent. The board completed other reorganization procedures during the meeting.
The board adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
