Retired FBI agent alleges wrongful firing and harassment in Johns Creek police squad during public comment

During public comment at the Johns Creek City Council meeting, Sean Mullis, a retired FBI agent, alleged his daughter — who served three years as a Johns Creek police officer — was fired after a non‑policy personal text and that command staff then fabricated additional allegations to justify termination.

"My daughter was a police officer here for 3 years. Chief Mitchell just fired her," Mullis said. He said command staff labeled the squad "problem children" and directed a lieutenant to "systematically harass and intimidate" officers until they resigned or were fired. Mullis asserted that four of the last five officers to leave were from protected classes and said the turnover has cost the city an estimated $1.5 million in recruitment, training and equipment.

Mullis said his daughter filed a complaint that an ATR manager initially opened, but that the city attorney shut down the investigation and would not allow her to present updated evidence. He asked the mayor, city manager and council to "correct this injustice before it's too late."
